The European Investment Bank's subsidiary EIB Global and the Brazilian state bank Banco do Brasil have signed a financing contract of EUR 250 million. The contract mobilises a total of EUR 500 million in microcredit directed at micro-enterprises led by and owned by women in Brazil's Legal Amazon region (Amazônia Legal).
