Europe Inspires, Argentina Designs: Second Edition Celebrated at BAFWEEK
The EU Delegation in Argentina, together with the 21 EU Member States with representation in the country, Universidad de Palermo, and the fashion platform BAFWEEK, held the second edition of the project "Europe Inspires, Argentina Designs" on 27 August 2026. The initiative promotes dialogue between Europe and Argentina through fashion, design and innovation, building on the principles of the New European Bauhaus.
From Classroom to Runway
The project began with the creation of a course on Europe within the Fashion Design programme at Universidad de Palermo (UP). 30 students participated in the process, researching the history, traditions, textiles and cultural expressions of the 21 EU Member States with representation in Argentina. This diversity served as the source of inspiration for developing an original collection reflecting the values of the New European Bauhaus – sustainability, inclusion and beauty.
Finale at BAFWEEK
The selected prototypes were showcased in an academic fashion show before culminating in a final runway on Thursday 27 August at the iconic Palacio de las Aguas Corrientes in Buenos Aires. The presentation took place as part of BAFWEEK, Argentina's most important fashion platform, where 60 models presented the collection in a show combining design, creativity and cultural diversity.
