EUISS Launches Recruitment for SCOPE Project Role
The European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) in Brussels has published a vacancy for a Communications Coordinator within the SCOPE (Security Coordination and Programme Enhancement) project. The position is attached to the EU Global Threats Programme (GTp), financed from the EU Neighbourhood Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI).
The two-year contract is set to begin on 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible. The monthly salary is EUR 4,400 before national taxes and social insurance contributions.
SCOPE Project Mandate
The SCOPE project has a global geographical scope and covers several thematic priority areas:
- Counterterrorism and prevention of violent extremism
- Mitigating CBRN threats (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear)
- Combating organised crime
- Addressing threats to critical infrastructure
- Threats related to the effects of climate change
The project works across five output areas: monitoring of programme actions and impact with corrective recommendations, ensuring coherence and coordination of programme components, identifying development areas through context expert analysis, providing technical expert advice for quality and standards, and supporting programme visibility within the EU and among partner countries and organisations.
Role and Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report to the SCOPE Team Leader and work closely with the core SCOPE team, the European Commission, partner organisations, and the Institute's broader communication team. Core responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the implementation of the GTp communication strategy and monitoring its impact
- Supporting all SCOPE and GTp-related communication activities via website, social media, and other channels
- Managing the GTp website and social media presence, including content creation and metrics monitoring
- Developing multimedia content such as social media visuals and videos
- Building links between relevant stakeholders to enhance GTp visibility
- Overseeing production and delivery of communication materials (brochures, fact sheets, reports, press releases)
- Providing hands-on support for flagship events and campaigns, including logistics and service provider coordination
- Maintaining templates and guidelines for visibility compliance
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Candidates must meet the following conditions on the date of recruitment:
